그리 유명하지 않은 로커빌리(Rockabilly) 밴드인 Slapbacks의 공연 중 "Sea of Heartbreak" 라이브를 찾아냈다.

Sea of Heartbreak는 원래 Don Gibson의 노래가 오리지널이다. 내가 중학교 1학년때부터 LP로 들으며 좋아했고 지금도 좋아하는 애창곡이다.

국내에서는 Poco의 리메이크로 잘 알려져 있고 가장 인기가 있지만, 나는 Don Gibson의 노래를 더 좋아한다. 경쾌한 멜로디에 실린 우울한 가사가 마치 삐에로의 미소처럼 언밸런스한 서글픈 감상을 전해주기 때문이다.
